GIS Case Study: City of Beaumont, Texas

Challenge
NewEdge was contracted to implement Cityworks PLL for Code Enforcement, Building Inspections, and Planning and Zoning. Considering the project scope Beaumont elected to implement Code Enforcement first due to an aging legacy system that would need migrating into Cityworks. The code division had very detailed workflows for each function and included both an export of financial transactions for import into H.T.E. and NewEdge’s Permit Progressor which allows the city to complete multiple like tasks on many cases at once. NewEdge delivered custom reports and continues to support the Code Enforcement Division utilizing support contracts.
Phase 2 for Building Inspections and Planning & Zoning began after the successful Code implementation.
